Type your old ICQ number when you create an ICQ2 account. If it is within the supported range and nobody has claimed it on the new network, you can make it yours again.

The early ICQ idea was wonderfully direct: tell you who is online and make it easy to contact them. ICQ2 starts there again.
The contact list is the home screen.
Open ICQ2 and see friends, not content selected to keep you scrolling.
Online is an invitation, not an obligation.
A green light says “I’m around.” Away says “maybe later.” That is enough.
A messenger can just be a messenger.
No channels, stories, mini-apps, ads, or engagement tricks. We have other apps for those.
Inspired by the friendly, people-first spirit of the Mirabilis-era ICQ website from 1997 ↗. This is a new independent project, not a restoration of that service.

The current Windows release is SoWhaat 0.2.06a — the new official name of this same independent project and network. It is a native desktop client with open e-mail verification, Global Directory search, and native friend invitations. Microsoft Store is the primary installation channel; the signed direct Setup remains available for existing updater compatibility.
