What to include

• your UIN, but never your password;
• the ICQ2 version shown in Help → About;
• your Windows version and whether it is 64-bit;
• the exact error text and the steps that led to it; and
• a screenshot only after removing unrelated personal information.

Never send these

Support will never ask for your password, e-mail verification code, Windows sign-in secret, session token, recovery code, or third-party account credentials. Do not send an entire local history database or private conversation unless you knowingly choose to disclose the minimum text needed to explain a problem.

Account access

Use the client’s e-mail password-reset flow when it is available. The service stores password hashes rather than readable passwords, so support cannot tell you your existing password. Account and privacy requests may require proof that you control the registered e-mail.

Installation and updates

Download ICQ2 only from the officialICQ2 download page or a mirror linked from that page. Compare the published SHA-256 checksum when diagnosing a damaged download. Never disable SmartScreen, antivirus, or an organization’s security policy merely to force an installation.

Privacy requests

Android users can permanently delete an account from Preferences → Delete Account. If you cannot sign in, use the external account-deletion path. Requests to access or correct account information may be sent to support@icq2.net. Read the ICQ2 Privacy Policy for current retention and local-history details.

Government and law-enforcement requests

Customer support is not authorized to search for, preserve, or disclose user information for a government authority and does not accept electronic service of legal process. Read the draft Government Requests Draft Declaration for the legal, human-rights, notice, and minimum-disclosure standards being prepared for every official ICQ2 client. A dedicated legal-process channel will be identified before that policy takes effect.

Useful facts

• The current desktop client requires 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11.
• ICQ2 is a new network; accounts and contact lists from unrelated services do not transfer.
• Messages use encrypted transport but are not end-to-end encrypted.
• Local message bodies are tied to the current Windows user through DPAPI.
